HOW IT STARTED

The brief

AI-First Frontier is a fictional coaching business we created to show what a custom brand and website project looks like. Its coach, Claire, helps owners and teams use AI to save real time without putting client trust at risk.

AI brands tend to go one of two ways: neon circuits and big promises, or bland consulting beige. This one needed to feel credible to a busy business owner, a little ahead of the curve, and clear about exactly what you get.

What we built

A complete brand and a seven-page website, built entirely with Squarespace's own tools.

An editorial-tech brand

An editorial serif, night navy and chalk, with one saffron highlight like a pen mark on a printed plan.

Question to plan

Each service starts with a real question in the visitor's own words, beside the plan Claire would build, which types itself in as you scroll.

Tech, used quietly

Faint signal lines at the edges of the hero and closing, made with Squarespace's Background Art. Present, never noisy.

Offers you can compare

Three clear offers (for owners, for teams, a roadmap session), each with format, length and what you leave with.

RESULTS

What this build shows

An expert's website works hardest when it meets visitors at their actual question. Starting each service with the problem in the visitor's words, then showing the plan, makes a complicated offer feel simple and approachable.

It also shows that a tech-forward look doesn't need custom code. The signal lines, the reveal and the offer cards are all native to Squarespace, so the site stays fast and easy for a coach to update on their own.

The Build

The redesign kept everything that made Claire credible and cleared away everything that got in the way — a five-page editorial site where the brand carries the weight of her experience without ever raising its voice.

The old site: Before — a "Scale AI Seamlessly" hero, headline ROI claims, buzzword sections, cold electric-blue styling with emoji icons.

The rebuilt site: After — a calm "first light on the frontier" hero, a warm petrol-and-clay system, proof-led services and portfolio, and one clear discovery-call path.

What we changed

We led with strategy, not decoration. Before choosing a single colour we got clear on who Claire serves, how enterprise buyers judge expertise, and what the site had to prove at each step. The through-line was simple: move her from loud to authoritative, and let restraint do the persuading — because for this buyer, composure is the credential. Then we built a focused, five-page editorial site where the brand carries the weight of her experience without ever raising its voice.

  • A restrained brand identity — a warm petrol-and-clay palette, Fraunces and Manrope, and a "first light on the frontier" motif that signals calm authority.
  • Proof over volume — the invented ROI figures and buzzwords stripped out, replaced by precision, credentials, and plain confidence.
  • One clear voice — warm, senior, and direct, written for the enterprise leaders she does her best work with.
  • A single next step — a discovery call as the one call to action, on every page.

The outcome

As a sample project these are illustrative — and, fittingly for a rebuild about restraint, they measure clarity rather than shout a number. A focused five-page site that's quick to read and search-ready. One clear path — a single discovery-call CTA carried across every page. And a first impression that finally sounds the way Claire does in the room, so the right leaders arrive already half-convinced.

“My site used to sell me like a product I’d never buy. Now it opens the conversation the way I actually work — quietly, and with the right people already sure.”
